P R O G R E S S

I have spent the past two weeks, working on the RG1 application form, to allow me to interview people I have in mind for my project with permission from the university. Every person that I plan to interview I have contacted them and explained purpose of their involvement and weather or not they would be interesting in partaking in an interview based on their job or hobbies. Not only do I have to contact them first with my idea, I then have to wait and see if they are interested in helping out and finally then spending time on drawing up some questions for the interview. I have found this quiet a long process, there is nothing I want more than to jump straight into my project and interview people but I feel that the planning process is just as important as any other element of the project. I have 10/11 people in mind for interviewing and I am currently tailoring questions around what I would like to find out or what I want them to focus on for their interview; obviously I have left room for them to voice there opinion on the matter.

My desire for each of the articles is for it to be as natural and flowing as possible. I want them to real descriptions and authentic interpretations. All this preparation and planning will mean less chance for problems or wasting time when it will matter most. I have a sketch book that is always with me; this allows me to write down all the idea that I have, progress of my work, changes and the development process. I write lists no matter If it is for school work or chores around the house so it comes second nature to me, therefore I have incorporated this into being organised for this project.

I met with a potential printer for my final magazine. I was able to discuss the path I want to take with my project, the size of the copy, the number of pages, the paper weight and quality. All these are key elements that play a huge roll in the final presentation of my final piece, therefore meeting with them face to face was fantastic as I feel more confident to potentially work with them. A couple of days after meeting them them, they were able to send me an email with a quote for the quantity and size I was looking.

Either x500 copies or x1000
